Anywhere

Online lessons

Lessons take place live over Zoom using an interactive chessboard, allowing us to analyze positions, move pieces, review games, and work through exercises together in real time. You get the same personalized coaching experience from anywhere in the world.

In person

In-person lessons

When available, lessons can also take place face-to-face. Just like online coaching, each session is built around your level, goals, and the next skill you need to develop. Depending on what you need most, we may focus on calculation, strategy, tactics, openings, endgames, game analysis, or another specific skill.

Questions

Before you book.

Still unsure? Robert answers every message himself.

  • We go straight to work from Lesson 1, while also prioritizing an assessment of your current level, strengths, weaknesses, and goals. We'll work together throughout the lesson, and afterward I'll create a personalized training plan so you have a clear path forward.

  • I've worked with students as young as 4. For younger children, the most important thing is that they can stay engaged and enjoy the lesson. We can also start with shorter lessons and increase the length as they become more comfortable. If you're unsure whether your child is ready, feel free to reach out and we can discuss it.

  • Private lessons are best if you want a personalized training plan and individual attention. Group lessons follow a structured curriculum and let you learn alongside players at a similar level. If you're not sure which is right for you, feel free to ask.

  • After the first lesson, you'll have access to my training platform, where I can assign exercises and study material based on your training plan. This gives you clear work to focus on between lessons and allows us to build on your progress each time we meet.
